Pumpkin Time

Oh, my.  My goal was to publish at least every month.  July - October.  Only four months, that's not too bad.  :(
We've been very busy since school started.  Kindergarten has been learning about the different parts of the Library and Library Books.  First Grade and Second Grade have been reviewing Library Procedures, Book Care, and Parts of a Book.  All Grades have just learned/reviewed Author's Purpose.
Of course, it can't be October without having the BOOK FAIR!  We had our most successful Book Fair EVER, thanks in part to PTA sponsoring a Grandparent Breakfast during the Book Fair.  Thanks to those wonderful Grands that will buy whatever the Grand Kids want, we made $2100 for the Library.  A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers, parents, and students that participated in making this Book Fair so successful.
A few reminders.....  Like us on FB.  Prairie Grove Primary Library.  Check out our Library Webpage at www.pgtigers.org under Schools, then Libraries.  If you click on Primary Library and the link is broken, just click on HOME, then scroll down through all the school districts until you get to Prairie Grove School District.  Click and you can choose between the four schools.

Sum Sum Summer Time

It's been an interesting Spring/Summer.  The Queen had to go on Medical Leave at the end of the school year and missed most of May.  I was able to make it back for the last 5 days of school.  I'm recovered, but boy, am I behind.  I couldn't have survived without my wonderful Sub, Joell Gish, and Volunteers, Julie Black, Betty Sharp, and Love Madrid.  I really appreciate their holding down the fort while I was out.
One of my goals this year is to keep up with my Blog, Facebook Page, and Webpage.  Hopefully, I will be posting more often on all three sites and keep everyone informed of what's going on at PGPS Library.
Also, the State has given School Libraries new Teaching Frameworks for the 2014-15 School Year.  We had the previous ones since 2007, so I have a lot of learning to do before School starts.  If you would like to see these new Frameworks, click here.  You can also look at other subject's frameworks using the navigation on the left hand side of the page.
We have new books to start the new school year and I have more on order.  I'm looking forward to a great year of reading with some exciting new titles.  There's always new Magic Tree House, Biscuit, Babymouse, and the ever popular motorcycle books.
     Until next time,
The Queen Speaks.
